Kingaroy Kindergarten held an open day at its building in North Street on Saturday to allow parents and children to get a taste of kindy life.

It’s almost two years since the Kindy moved into its new premises, built after 10 years of intensive community fundraising.

Acting Director Helen Hall said the idea of kindy was to “prepare children for Prep” by learning the basics.

They take children aged from three years to five years.

There are 22 children in a group, and two groups meet every week.

She said there were currently one vacancy in the beginning-of-the-week group, and two in the end-of-the-week group.

The kindergarten is also taking enrolments now for next year.
