The epic musical Les Misérables is coming to the South Burnett, or at least some of the marvellous music from the famous production is.
The Esk Community Choir will be presenting songs from “Les Mis” in Blackbutt next month.
The choir was established in 1978 and has a close relationship with the Blackbutt Singers.
Members of the Blackbutt group have travelled on overseas tours with the Esk choir on at least four occasions.
The Esk group performed their “Excerpts In Concert” from Les Misérables on May 2 to a packed house at the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk.
Maree Hammond, from the Blackbutt Singers, saw the production and was blown away.
“It was so brilliant, they put an awful lot of work into it,” she said.
They have now been invited by the Blackbutt Singers to stage a special repeat performance on June 20 at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall.
Tickets will be available at the door, or if you would like to reserve a ticket, phone Maree on (07) 4163-0581.
Adults are $18, pensioners $15 and children $5.
The concert will start promptly at 6:00pm.
