Round 3 of the McDonald’s South Burnett Junior Football competition was played at Wondai on Saturday.

There was also more action in the Subway Squirts program which is being run by all three clubs for the junior soccer players of the future (ages 3-5).

In the competitive age groups, it was back to a regular round of local games after last week’s Inter-Club Challenge matches:

U12/13s

  • Goldmix Stockfeed Bears 11 – Can Do Landscape Panthers 0
  • Kingaroy Accounting & Tax Redbacks 2 – Telstra Store Redbacks 1
  • King Air Redbacks 7 – Country Video Library Panthers 4

Cadets

  • Barambah Painting Contractor Bears 5 – Dugies Driver Training Panthers 2
  • Kingaroy Joinery Redbacks 8 – Lucky Charm Newsagency Redbacks 4
  • South Burnett Car Sales & Window Tinting Redbacks 10 – Flemings Garage Panthers 2

Next week’s games will again be played at Wondai.

Junior players are being  selected for U12/13 and U14/15 Stingers sides this year.

The two teams will head to the South-West Qld Zone championships in Gatton on May 31, Warwick on June 21 and back to Gatton on July 19.

Players will also be selected for SWQ teams to attend the Gold Coast Cup Tournament in the September school holidays.
