The Queensland Farmers’ Federation has announced the appointment of a new CEO, Clare Murray, who will take over the reins of the organisation on May 27.
Ms Murray has been CEO of the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland for the past seven years.
“Clare is a highly motivated and passionate advocate, with a strong CEO background. I look forward to working with her, continuing to build on QFF’s work as the collective voice for intensive agricultural industries in Queensland,” QFF President Joanne Grainger.
“Clare is an exceptional leader who understands the challenges facing advocacy organisations in meeting the needs of members in a dynamic political and economic climate.”
Ms Murray has a long family association to the agriculture industry, with her farming pedigree stretching back to the 1850s.
Her extended family has reached their sixth generation on the land, including her brother who is currently managing a dairy farm in Gippsland, Victoria.
Ms Murray will replace Dan Galligan who has been appointed CEO of Canegrowers after six years with the QFF.
