May 14, 2015

The 81st annual Blackbutt Show will be held this Saturday at the showgrounds in Hart Street, and the Blackbutt Show Society has planned a great day of entertainment for all the family.

There’ll be all the usual fun of the fair, including a ute muster, chainsawing, pavilion displays, sideshow alley, face painting, roving entertainers including stilt-walkers and clowns, and a baby animal farm.

Visitors can expect to see a great depth of talent in the wood-chopping events.

This year there’ll also be an all-new Circus Spectacular in the main arena which will be putting on half-hour circus shows at 2:00pm and 7:00pm that are sure to be a crowd-pleasers.

Stud cattle, horses, poultry, miniature goats and a dog show will add a rural flavour.

And a fashion parade at 11:00am at The Marquee wine and cheese tent will provide something for more cosmopolitan tastes.

The Show’s Grand Parade will be held at 1:00pm; the official opening by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington will be held at 1:15pm; and the spectacular Fire and Ice fireworks show – complete with lasers and a snow-making machine – will light up the sky at 8:00pm.

After this, country rock performer Neil Duddy will be providing lively musical entertainment until midnight.

Entry is $10 for adults, and $5 for pensioners or children over 12. Children under 12 are free.
