The South Burnett Saints AFL team continued their unbeaten form on the road on Saturday, clocking up a 22-point away win over the Chinchilla Suns.

At half-time, South Burnett led 6.3 (39) to 3.8 (26), with the Suns rueing some vital goal chances that went astray.

In the third quarter, the Saints peppered the goal square to draw 45 points ahead at the end of the term.

Chinchilla worked hard in the last quarter to wear down the lead but in the end fell short, 11.11 (77) to 15.9 (99).

South Burnett’s goal honours were shared among half the team: Jack Day (2), Paul Pressnell (2), David Black (2), Ty Snow (2), Brad Edwards (2), Braeden Snow, Keiran Snow, Dylan Bowater, Adam Bowater and Matt Patroni.

Under 16s had a bye this week.

At the end of Round 5, the South Burnett Saints senior side had a  four-point lead at the top of the Darling Downs AFL 2nd Division Table

Round 6 of the competition will be played on Sunday, May 24, at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy:

  • 10:30am – South Burnett U16s v Toowoomba Tigers
  • 12:10pm – South Burnett Saints v Lockyer Valley Demons
  • 2:00pm – South Burnett Women v Lockyer Valley Demons
