Rain has thrown plans for this weekend’s Kingaroy Show into disarray … South Burnett National Show Society President Cliff Seiler said the show was definitely going ahead but all the events that were to take place in the ring have been cancelled.

This means no Grand Parade, no junior motorcycle speedway and no speedway on Saturday night.

The beef cattle, dairy cattle, miniature horses and all equestrian events have also been cancelled.

However, unless conditions become worse, sideshow alley will be going ahead.

The fate of the Saturday night fireworks will be confirmed later today but Cliff is hopeful they will go ahead, but probably earlier than originally planned.

The truck show on Saturday and the ute show on Sunday are also still scheduled to happen.

The poultry, guinea pigs, needlework, culinary, photographic, home brew, produce, pork, Lego, fine arts and woodwork entries will still be on show in the trade pavilions.

The show will be officially opened by Gary Barron at 1:30pm.

UPDATE May 2: The fireworks will go off at 7:30pm tonight.
