A booklet to record the history of St Paul’s Anglican Church in Kumbia is being put together following the closure of the church earlier this year.
A public meeting was held at the church on March 27 to tell parishioners the church would be closed because of dwindling attendances.
A final Thanksgiving and De-consecration service will be held at St Paul’s later this year.
Rhonda Kefford and Jenny Bickerton are now putting together a booklet detailing the history of the 98-year-old parish for this final celebration.
They are seeking family stories from past parishioners and photographs, if possible.
The original wooden church building was moved to Kumbia in 1917; this was sold in 1970 and the present brick church constructed.
Anyone who can help with information for the booklet should contact Rhonda on (07) 4162-4727 or Jenny on (07) 4164-4141.
