Kingaroy netballer Mia Whye led the way during her debut for the Darling Down Panthers in a trial game against the Wide Bay Thundercatsin Kingaroy on Sunday.

Mia will be playing for the Panthers when the Queensland State Netball League competition gets underway on May 9.

The extended trial game was a great opportunity for her to get match practice with her new teammates.

The pre-season game attracted a keen crowd of onlookers at the Kingaroy High School Sports Auditorium.

Mia led the Panthers onto her home court and then helped them with accurate shooting as Goal Attack on their way to a 67-55 victory.

The Thundercats pulled away to an early lead but the Panthers improved their defence as the game progressed and found their rhythm to overhaul Wide Bay.
