Kingaroy urban and local rural firefighters are monitoring the paddock behind PCA’s Technical Centre in Alford Street East after a grass fire broke out in the area on Wednesday morning.
A large plume of smoke loomed above the Kingaroy CBD briefly from about 11:15am but no properties were under threat.
Firefighters quickly had the flames extinguished.
Police have spoken to some children seen in the area but investigations are continuing.
The Youth Park and BMX track in Somerset Street were not affected.
