Speedway action is returning to Kingaroy on Saturday with a bonus … the very first race meeting of the new Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club will also be held at the track.

The bikes will be racing from 2:00pm with the cars getting underway at 5:00pm.

Gates will open at noon and the entry cost to the bike racing will include the Saturday night speedway.

Kingaroy Bees club secretary Tracey Tunstall said about 20 junior motorbike riders were coming to Kingaroy from Brisbane, Ipswich, the Sunshine Coast and Gladstone.

There will be racing in 125cc and 250/350cc classes plus a 50cc demonstration.

Two local riders will be competing, Cordell Rogerson and Kyle Tessmann, as well as Cohan Sanders riding in the PeeWee section.

The evening speedway meeting will include V8 Super Sedans, Production Sedans, Street Stocks and Juniors.

The V8s will be competing in the Queensland Championship Series with 27 drivers nominated, including crowd favourites Matt Pascoe, Darren Kane and local hero David Musch.

There will be two rounds of eight-lap heats followed by the 12-lap B Main and the 40-lap feature.

Fourteen drivers have nominated in the Street Stocks, 13 in the Production Sedans and 11 in the Juniors so it should be a great night of racing.
