Queensland Farmers Federation CEO Dan Galligan has resigned after being at the helm of the organisation for more than six years.

QFF President Joanne Grainger said he would leave on May 8.

“Dan has capably led the organisation since 2009 and in that time has enhanced the reputation of QFF, delivering positive outcomes for Queensland farmers and establishing an effective operating structure for the organisation,” Ms Grainger said.

“He has led the QFF through a range of complex policy negotiations for Queensland farmers including issues that involved the interface between the mining and farming sectors and the response to multiple natural disasters.

“We have been fortunate to have had the benefit of his skills and knowledge and we wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”

Prior to joining the QFF, Mr Galligan was policy manager at Cotton Australia Queensland.
