A large crowd turned out at the Nanango Showgrounds on Saturday night to find out who would be sashed as this year’s Miss Nanango Showgirl.
The evening is a traditional curtain-raiser for the Nanango Show, which will be held on April 10-11.
The Nanango Showgirl competition is always keenly contested.
Past Miss Showgirls have gone on to win at the South Burnett Sub-Chamber level, representing the region at State level.
Recent Rural Ambassadors have also gone on from Nanango to represent the South Burnett.
The real judging was done earlier in the day when the entrants were put their paces by judges Michael and Margie Magnussen and Kaitlyn Moat at Ringsfield House.
This year’s winners were then announced at a semi-formal function held at Nanango Showgrounds and sashed by last year’s title holders.
