The D’Aguilar Highway re-opened late last night following yesterday’s fuel tanker crash which claimed the life of a 68-year-old Bardon man.
The man was driving the van which was involved in a collision about 10:30am with a tanker near the entrance to Kilcoy racecourse,
Emergency services attended but the man was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 39-year-old male truck driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police declared an exclusion zone of 500 metres around the crash site due to a fuel spill.
This was revoked at 10.30pm last night.
The highway has been re-opened but police advised this morning that traffic is moving slowly as road damage at the location is being assessed for repairs.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
