After a famine of campdrafts in recent years, South Burnett fans in 2015 are being treated to a feast … with the next two coming up this weekend at Nanango and Cooranga North.

The Cooranga North Campdraft will be held at the Cooranga North Recreation Reserve, on Kingaroy-Jandowae Road on Saturday (March 28). There’ll be Maiden, Junior, Juvenile and Novice drafts.

On Sunday (March 29), the Nanango Campdraft will get underway at 6:00am at the Nanango Showgrounds. There’ll be a Novice Draft, with a total of $1370 in prizemoney; and the Heritage Community Branch Open Draft, with a total of $1970 in prizes.

The annual Kumbia Charity Campdraft – this year dubbed “The Kingaroy Equipment Sales Campdraft” – will be held on April 4-5 at Kumbia Sportsgrounds.

There’ll be the Alex Logan Memorial Open Draft, a Restricted Sweepstakes (Open and Novice horses only), a Combined Maiden / Novice Draft, the Frank Tucker Memorial Junior Draft (for riders 8 years and under) and the Juvenile Draft (riders 13 to under 17 years).

Also on April 4-5 is the Kragra Gold Watch Campdraft and Gymkhana which will include Maiden, Juvenile, Junior, Novice and Open rounds plus a Futurity (for horses four years old and under).  There’ll also be a Gymkhana (five age groups) and Mini Draft (for riders under 8 years).

The Proston Golden Spurs Campdraft kicks off at noon on Friday, April 24, and will run over three days. There will be Novice, Restricted Open, the Colin Anderson Memorial Open, Eric Godsell Memorial Junior and Juvenile rounds plus two Maiden competitions.

Also on the Anzac Day weekend, is the two-day Manumbar Campdraft which will also include pony fun events on the Saturday. The Manumbar Draft will get underway at 6:30am on Saturday (April 25) with the Burnett Ryan Memorial Draft. There will also be the Norm-Gloria Franz Memorial Junior Draft, Douglas Porter Memorial Juvenile Draft, Restricted Draft, Jack Perrett Memorial Novice Draft and the John Smith Memorial Open Draft.
