An 18-year-old man from Jinghi, south of Darr Creek, has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly drove his car at a police officer last night.
Police will allege that about 10:45pm a police officer intercepted a sedan on High Street, Jandowae, for a random breath test.
While he was speaking, the driver allegedly made threats towards the officer, turned the vehicle sharply and reversed into the male officer.
The officer was forced to jump out of the way and the vehicle crashed into the nearby police vehicle.
It will be further alleged the man then accelerated again towards the officer, forcing him to move out of the way to avoid being struck.
The vehicle then drove away.
The 45-year-old senior constable sustained minor injuries.
The driver has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, threatening violence and obstructing police.
He will appear in Dalby Magistrates Court tomorrow.
