Fitzroy Street, Nanango, is about to get a makeover … but there will be some disruptions to traffic

March 19, 2015

Work to upgrade three pedestrian crossings in Fitzroy Street, Nanango, will begin next Wednesday (March 25).

The crossings are located between Elk Street and Drayton Street.

A South Burnett Regional Council spokesman said the project would include the removal of existing pavers on the raised pedestrian crossings and replacing them with concrete in-fill.

During construction, Fitzroy Street will be closed to through traffic but businesses will still be accessible through a cul-de-sac-type traffic flow.

Access to Fitzroy Street will be via either Elk Street or Drayton Street, depending on which crossing is closed.

It is expected each crossing will take about 10 days to upgrade.

The spokesman said access to local businesses should not be affected although some parking will be restricted to allow for construction safety.
