Organisers of the South Burnett’s iconic Wine and Food in the Park Festival promise eight hours of non-stop entertainment on Saturday.

Main sponsors Downer EDi Mining have given their support once again so visitors can enjoy a variety of music, street theatre and rides – as well as fine wines and great food.

The main stage entertainment will start at noon.

It will feature Seven Start City, the Barefoot Brass Big Band, the Kingaroy State High School Stage Band, The Blues Excuse and Mr Q.

(NB. Nanango musician Tony Cisneros says the Mr Q gig will definitely go ahead, despite band member Gavin Cisneros being badly injured in a motorbike crash this morning in Kingaroy. Mr Cisneros, Tony’s brother, has been flown to Brisbane for surgery.)

The beer tent will feature acoustic artists, including popular local singer Rowan Edwards.

And, as usual, some of Queensland’s best street theatre performers will be mingling with the crowds.

Committee member Darren Schmidt said the event attracted visitors from home and far away.

“Each year, we have re-unions and special gatherings,” he said.

“We’re encouraging everyone to come down and enjoy the best the South Burnett has to offer.”

The festival gates open at noon. Entry is $15 for adults (under 18s free).
