Stuart Timm, from Pittsworth, at last year’s Cooyar Show

February 3, 2015

The round of local agricultural shows for 2015 kicks off on February 21 with the 66th annual Cooyar Show.

Organisers say they have a few new events planned for this year’s show, including a mini horse derby, mutton busting, poddy rides and demolition derby cars.

All the regular popular attractions will also be taking place, including chainsaw racing, a stud cattle competition, equestrian events, ute muster and pavilion displays.

A licensed bar will be running all day.

The grand parade and official opening will be held from about 12:15pm.

Cost to enter the show is $20 for adults and $5 for high school students. Children under 12 are free.

In sideshow alley, a special “budget package” of five rides for $5 will be available.

The evening will be capped off by the traditional bull ride and fireworks display.

Footnote: The annual Cooyar Show Ball will be held this Saturday (February 7) at the Cooyar Hall.
