Durong grazier Georgie Somerset and Kingaroy GP Dr Isabella Jonsson-Lear will be the guest speakers at the Quota Club of Kingaroy’s International Women’s Day Dinner next month.
Mrs Somerset is a well-known Durong grazier and last year was nominated as one of the “100 Women of Influence” in the rural category in awards sponsored by The Australian Financial Review and Westpac .
She is vice-president of Queensland AgForce, a Board member of the QRAA and the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, chair of the Red Earth Community Foundation and a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Born in South Africa, Dr Jonsson-Lear is a Kingaroy GP who is possibly best known outside the South Burnett as being the personal physician of former Queensland Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen.
The dinner will be held from 6:00pm on March 7 at the Senior Citizens Centre in Kingaroy.
Cost if $45, or $240 for a table of six, which includes a two-course meal, tea and coffee.
As well as the guest speakers, there will be a raffle, auction and other prizes.

Money raised will be donated to the Kingaroy Senior Citizens and the Hear and Say Centre.
The night is also being sponsored by Stanwell and the Senior Citizens Centre.
