South Burnett rural women have been invited to look over the criteria for a string of bursaries being offered by the National Council of Women in Queensland.

The different criteria required for each bursary are explained on the NCWQ website

Of special interest to local residents is a $1000 bursary, the 2015 Mayor Wayne Kratzmann Bursary, which is open only to female residents of the South Burnett Regional Council area.

The recipient must also be:

1. Enrolled in a full-time, part-time or distance education course – either university or TAFE – to further develop their skills as a primary producer

2. Able to demonstrate their contribution to the local community, eg through a sports group, school, church, service club, QCWA etc

3. Be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.

Some of the other bursaries on offer are for secondary students as well as tertiary students.

Applications for the bursaries opened on Monday (February 16) and will close on April 8, 2015.
