An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital after he was kicked in the face by a cow on a property near Kilkivan this morning.

An RACQ CareFlight spokesperson said the man was knocked over, hit in the chest and kicked in the jaw by the cow.

He suffered a suspected chest injury.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the property about 10:00am.

The man was treated at the scene by ambulance officers and CareFlight’s medical team before he was flown to Nambour General Hospital.

He travelled in a stable condition.
