Sadly, the Blackbutt Yarraman Timbertowners haven’t been seen on a footy field since 2013

February 5, 2015

The Blackbutt-Yarraman Rugby League Club’s touch football competition – which they will be running this year instead of having a Timbertown team in the South Burnett league competition – will get underway next Monday (February 9).

The competition will be played at the league grounds, Ian “Bunny” Pearce Oval.

Juniors (aged 5-14 years) will kick off at 5:00pm with Opens (men’s, women’s and mixed teams) from 6:00pm.

Players of all experience levels are welcome to join in.

Blackbutt-Yarraman did not have enough players to field teams in the 2015 South Burnett rugby league competition and at one stage it was feared the club might fold.

However, it has remained affiliated and Club President Barry Richardson told southburnett.com.au recently that he was hopeful the Timbertowners would return to the competition at some time in the future if more players become available locally.

The touch competition is six-a-side and will be run for six weeks on Monday nights. Cost is $5 per person per game.

Food and drinks will be available at the ground.
