Kingaroy speedway driver Ben Stead is recovering in the Gold Coast Hospital after injuring in his back in a crash at Lismore Speedway on Saturday night.
Ben was racing his Honda in Round 3 of the J&M Racecraft 4 Cylinder Super Series when he clipped another car and flipped roof-first into the concrete wall.
He was taken to Lismore Hospital and then transferred to the Gold Coast to have scans taken.
It is believed that Ben has injured his T7 vertebra but is expected to make a full recovery.
Ben won the South Burnett Speedway Club’s “4 Cylinder Sedans” perpetual shield at the club’s 2014 awards night.
At the time of his crash, he was coming fourth in the J&M series after two rounds.
