Santa’s swing through the South Burnett continued at the weekend with Christmas Carnivals held at Goomeri and Hivesville on Friday night.
Goomeri’s carnival, organised by the local Lions Club, had been postponed from earlier this month because of the rain.
Unfortunately, some of the attractions that had been planned had to be cancelled because of the school holidays.
However the popular ham and Christmas cake wheel was in full spin and there was a jumping castle for the kids.
A barbecue and the ever-popular Lions chip van kept everyone well fed.
Santa dropped in as night fell to distribute gifts to the children.
Down the road at Hivesville, Santa arrived in a home-made sulky drawn by a stallion and a filly.
The Hivesville Progress Association organised the town’s celebration which included carols by the Kingaroy Seventh-day Adventist choir and a barbecue.
And Santa still had plenty of gifts left to share with the Hivesville children.
