Meet Gypsy … her true wish is a brand new home! She’s an older girl whose mum unfortunately passed away, so now would like a new family to live out her twilight years; she has plenty of life and love to give and her adoption fee has been reduced to $25 which includes desexing, microchipping, vaccinations, worming and flea treatments (Photo: Sonia Vine Photography)

Kingaroy RSPCA is running a special “12 Strays … Of Christmas” promotion to help find homes for some of the older animals at the centre.

If you’re thinking of getting a pet before Christmas, now could be a good time to visit the shelter, which is located near Kingaroy Airport.

RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty said shelters were at capacity across Queensland so now was the time to adopt a pet.

“By adopting, you’re not just giving that animal a second chance, but also the pet that takes its place in our RSPCA shelters,” he said.

Until Sunday, the Kingaroy RSPCA shelter has cats from $25 and dogs from $125.
