A busload of South Burnett businesspeople will be heading to Wellcamp Airport next Monday (December 15) to learn more about the opportunities the new facility could open up for the region.

Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport is located 17km from Toowoomba and is the first privately built airport constructed in Australia for 50 years.

The airport, built by family-owned business Wagners, has been situated to service the Brisbane West region through to the Darling Downs and Surat Basin.

Qantaslink  has already started flights from the facility and an 800ha Business Park is under construction nearby.

South Burnett businesspeople are being invited to explore opportunities in tourism and freight.

They will get the opportunity to quiz airport general manager Phil Gregory about the facility.

The bus trip is being organised by the South Burnett Regional Council in conjunction with Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport.
