A rider has died after his motorbike ran off the D’Aguilar Highway this morning.

Nanango Police Officer-in-Charge Sergeant Jason Newton said the man was travelling into Nanango about 9:15am when the crash occurred, just outside Nanango Tank Makers’ premises.

Police have spoken to witnesses and say there were no other vehicles involved in the incident.

The motorbike crossed onto the wrong side of the road before hitting an advertising sign on the side of the road.

Sgt Newton said paramedics worked on the rider at the scene and he was transported to Nanango Hospital, however he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is currently examining the crash scene.

Sgt Newton said it was too early to say exactly what had caused the incident.

Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the rider.
