Murgon State High School’s formal night had glamour, glitter and lots of smiling faces, happy that years of schooling were finally over.

The school always holds its formal at the end of the very last day for Year 12 students, putting a classy full-stop to high school.

The students arrived at Murgon Town Hall in everything from a tractor (driven by Bruce Sommerfeld, from South Burnett Machinery) to a Kenworth prime mover, a World War II-era Jeep, as well as the usual Monaros, GT Falcons and classic cars.

They paraded down a red carpet to applause from friends and family, and then had the opportunity to remain outside the hall to watch the rest of the fun as their friends rolled up in their fancy vehicles.

This impressive Kenworth prime mover was probably the largest of the formal vehicles, but it certainly wasn’t the loudest or the fastest
