South Burnett Thrashers rugby union club has signed up 18 players interested in playing in next year’s competition – but they still need more.
Club president Jamie Shirlaw told southburnett.com.au that ideally the club needed 25 to 30 players to make their re-entry into the Darling Downs competition viable.
The Thrashers held a sign-on last Saturday at the Broadway Hotel.
Jamie said several players signed up on the night and others had apologised for not making it but had committed to play.
He will be writing to the Darling Downs Rugby Union this week to appraise them of the club’s position.
“We will need to know before Christmas, I believe, who will be available to play.”
