Gympie Mayor Ron Dyne has been presented with a 15-year Certificate of Service from the Local Government Association of Queensland for his work on Kilkivan and Gympie councils.
Mayor Dyne, who has inoperable cancer, could not attend the LGAQ Annual Conference in October, so the certificate was presented to him at Gympie Council this week.
He took sick leave in August.
South Burnett Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell was presented with his 15 year certificate – for service on the Kingaroy and South Burnett councils – by LGAQ president Margaret De Wit at the conference.
