On Sunday, Taromeo Rural Fire Brigade was called to a grass fire near Blackbutt sparked by a ride-on mower.

The blaze spread quickly across a grassed area but was brought under control by firefighters.

The mower was destroyed.

On Tuesday, the Sunshine Coast Strike Team and the Stuart River Rural Fire Brigade attended a grass fire on River Road, near Kingaroy, also started by a mower.
