Celebrating the 10th birthday of The Ration Shed Museum … Sandra Morgan and Lesley Williams have been involved with the project since the beginning

Cherbourg’s Ration Shed Museum marked its 10th birthday with a celebration at the historic complex on Friday.
Cherbourg residents joined with visitors from Brisbane and other parts of Queensland to mark the occasion.
Highlights included traditional dancing and a re-enactment of the distribution of “rations” (actually anniversary souvenirs).
“Thank you” certificates of recognition were distributed to individuals and organisations that have helped The Ration Shed grow since its beginning in 2004.
Cherbourg’s historical precinct has blossomed since the former Ration Shed was shifted onto the site.
As well as the actual Ration Shed displays, the Boys Dormitory now features a museum highlighting the sporting history of the town, and the old CWA shed has become an art space.
