Gloria Bell, Cheryl Cooper and Raelee Singleton spent Thursday morning hanging donated bras along the fenceline leading into Cherbourg

Motorists on the Cherbourg Road from Murgon aren’t seeing things … yes, those are bras hanging along sections of the roadside fence.

And it’s not washing day gone wrong.

The women from the Many Threads group, who meet at the Ration Shed every Wednesday, have begun hanging bras along the fenceline to raise awareness about breast cancer.

If possible, they would like to connect the two towns with bras but they’ll need even more donations than the boxes that have come in so far.

So far, three different sections of the fence have been tackled.

If anyone has bras that they would like to add to fence, they can be left at The Ration Shed

The “Bizarre Bra Event” is being held in conjunction with a decorated bra art competition.

Gloria Bell said the official launch of entries in the competition would be held in the Old Boys Dormitory at The Ration Shed complex on November 5.

There will be a display of decorated bras made by local women and the winners of the 12 categories in the competition will be announced.

It’s not washing day … it’s just a Bizarre Bra Event
