The Wondai, Hivesville, Ballogie and Proston branches of the QCWA have celebrated International Day For Rural Women in style … even the fashion on show had a very rustic feel.

Silverleaf farmer Marg Enkelmann was invited to put on a show of her amazing “wearable art” at a morning tea at the Wondai Diggers Club on Tuesday.

The seven models each adopted a persona before parading around the room to many laughs.

Everything they were wearing had been recycled off the farm by Marg, with discarded seed and fertilizer bags, tractor tyre inner tubes and bits of baling wire turned into glamorous outfits.

Marg’s wearable art is famous in rural circles and has even been featured interstate.

She started to explain about the recycling paradigm behind the outfits, before simply admitting that making the clothes was a lot of fun.
