The cuisine and service that made Moffatdale’s Old Dairy Restaurant so famous now lives on at the Bridgeman Downs Bistro, which is under new management

South Burnett And Cherbourg On ShowOctober 3, 2014

Long-established South Burnett wine producers Bridgeman Downs Cellars underwent a quiet but significant change six months ago.

After more than 14 years of operations, owners Jan and Alex Bridges decided to take a break from the wine making careers and invited Clovely Estate’s former cellar door and restaurant operators Wally and Cathie Presudovs to take over the day-to-day operation of the property.

Since then, the energetic couple have been revitalising the long-established cellar door and reinvigorating the bistro, as well as expanding the wine list to include their own house-branded Pesudovs wines alongside Bridgeman Downs’ range.

Wally and Cathie became well known in Moffatdale over the last decade for their Old Dairy Restaurant, which was built inside the shell of a former working dairy.

While that restaurant no longer operates, the high standard of cuisine and service they brought to it now lives on at the licensed Bridgeman Downs Bistro, which offers a small but exquisite range of entrees, mains and desserts ranging in price from $16 to $24, along with daily blackboard specials.

On the South Burnett and Cherborg On Show long weekend, both the cellar door and bistro will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm for wine tastings and the longest, most relaxing lunch (or morning or afternoon tea) you could want.

Bookings aren’t essential, but if you want to reserve a seat you can do so by phoning them on (07) 4168-4784 or 0418-713-132.
