Graham House’s transport scheme now has three special wheelchairs thanks to a special Huston Nissan promotion earlier this year.

The idea was that every time someone test drove either a Nissan X-Trail or the new Nissan Qashqai, $25 would be donated to the Graham House.

However, when the Saturday in question dawned, the weather was awful.

“I was so despondent,” Graham House manager Linda O’Hare said.  “It was so cold, it was freezing. I didn’t think anyone would come along.”

“But Mark Huston blew us away when at the end of the day he presented us with a cheque for the full amount. Their generosity was amazing!”

The $2500 was used to purchase three ultralight transit chairs which will be used in conjunction with Graham House’s patient transport scheme.

“They will help us move people from their house to the car, and from the car to their appointment or around the shopping centre,” Graham House transport co-ordinator Maree Anderson said.

The promotion was run in conjunction with Nissan Australia and Felicity’s Wish Foundation.
