Confused by the new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)? Aged over 60 and caring for a disabled son or daughter? Then this workshop on Monday, September 15 in Kingaroy is for you.

Community Respite Options South Burnett (CROSB) is hosting the “Creating A Vision For The Future” workshop for older parents or carers at the South Burnett Enterprise Centre at 6 Cornish Street from 9:00am.

Representatives from Parent To Parent Qld are travelling around Queensland to work with families to make them ready for the arrival of the NDIS in 2016.

“The workshop is for older carers and parents and families of people who have a disability,” Tracie Armstrong, from CROSB, said.

“It’ll be about preparing for the NDIS, how understand it and access it, and plan for the future.”

The free workshop aims to take participants on a journey thinking about their son’s or daughter’s hopes and dreams for the future.
