The proposed Maidenwell Blues and Bluegrass Festival – tentatively pencilled in for the October long weekend – has been postponed to next year.

Instead, the regular Maidenwell Folk Gathering will be going ahead as usual at the Maidenwell Hotel from October 2-6.

Organisers say everyone is welcome to come along and play. Entry is free and there’s also free camping available.

Program:

  • October 2 – Meet’n’Greet jam evening
  • October 3 – Jam sessions and workshops
  • October 4 – Outdoor stage gigs + blackboard concert
  • October 5 – Chilled out jams
  • October 6 – Public Holiday farewell jams

The new Maidenwell music festival in February will cover two days and two nights and include hard rock, blues, country and indie.

Initial plans include a major stage, food vans and even art installations.
