Murgon junior sportsman Jared Sippel has been selected to play in the Queensland U14 Touch Football team to travel to Melbourne in mid-December.
Jared plays in Kingaroy team IGA Red alongside his father Ashley and sister Courtney, in the local touch football competition.
He was selected after his performance at the Queensland Junior Touch Championships at the weekend.
Jared was the only Kingaroy player selected this year to play for the Sunshine Coast.
But although Jared is proud to have won the honour, he won’t be going.
Mother Leanne said today the touch tour clashes with Jared’s Queensland Junior Championship for cricket.
“Unfortunately this trip clashes with QJC, and let’s face it, while he loves his touch it doesn’t even come close to his passion for cricket,” she said.
