State schools in the Nanango electorate will receive a total of $532,457 in maintenance funding in 2014/15, Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington announced today.
She said the money, from the third round of the State Government’s $300 million commitment to revitalise State schools, would ensure local school children had the best possible learning environment.
Mrs Frecklington said the investment would completely clear the maintenance backlog left by the previous Labor Government.
“I am pleased that State schools in the South Burnett will benefit from our program,” she said.
“Schools will receive funding to repair cracked footpaths, repaint classrooms and install new carpet.
“We’ve cut red tape and this means schools can bypass bureaucrats and go straight to the market, sourcing local materials and works and having the best value for service locally.”
