Wondai Regional Art Gallery will take visitors “behind the scenes” during their September exhibition to explore the process that an artist goes through before developing a work.
“Sketches” by Zane Stuart is a display based on two finished paintings, both of which portray scenes or experiences from the South Burnett.
They are surrounded by about 40 preliminary sketches from Zane which outline scenes, colours and moods before the larger, more detailed paintings were produced.
In the front gallery, local artist Lindley Hart has “Different Dimensions”,which represents two decades of expressive exploration.
Several works in this exhibition are able to be viewed simply as they are or with special 3D glasses to show the unique way in which colours relate and interplay with each other.
The Biggenden Art Group has “Big Art” in the Third Gallery.
This is an exhibition of new work by the members of the group, which was formed in 2002.
Two of the original members, Judith Ferris and Pat Worsley, are still active within the group.
Murgon State School students will have works in Kidz Corner.
The exhibitions will be officially opened on Friday, September 5, with an open night starting at 6:00pm.
The $5.00 entry fee includes supper and punch.
Wine will be served by local winery.
