Two emergency helicopters were called to the scene of single vehicle road crash on the Chinchilla-Wondai Road at Ballogie this afternoon.

A police spokesman said the incident occurred about 3:20pm near J Hunters Road.

Two men were briefly trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut free from the wreckage by emergency workers.

The men were airlifted by separate RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopters – one from Toowoomba and one from Maryborough.

The Maroochydore chopper was diverted from another mission to attend the scene.

An RACQ CareFlight spokesman said a man aged in his 60s, believed to be the driver, had possible chest and lower leg injuries. He was airlifted to Nambour Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A second, older male also suffered possible chest injuries and was airlifted to the Toowoomba Base Hospital. He also travelled in a stable condition.

It is believed the injuries are non-life threatening.

The road was briefly blocked while emergency crews were on the scene.
