Captain’s Paddock owner Pete Eaton has assured local residents the popular B&B and cellar-door on the Booie Range is not about to close.
Rumours have been circulating about the imminent demise of the business, which is on the market, but Pete assured southburnett.com.au today they were not true.
He said Captain’s Paddock would be closed only from August 11-23 – for the first time in 12 years – as he would be travelling to Sydney.
Pete is taking famous “wine dog” Merlot down to Sydney to join partner Maryanne Pidcock who has taken up a new job at the University of Sydney.
Pete said he would then be back at the Paddock and it would be “business as usual” until a buyer stepped forward for the business.
“I would really love to see a young chef take it over,” he said.
