A woman and a young child were lucky to escape serious injury when their car rolled and ended up on its roof in a ditch on the side of the D’Aguilar Highway near Coolabunia on Saturday night.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the 26-year-old Kingaroy woman and her three-year-old daughter were heading into Kingaroy about 9:00pm.
She told police she lost control after trying to take evasive action to avoid a kangaroo near the new overtaking lanes on the highway.
The woman will face charges of unlicensed driving and failing to have proper control of a vehicle.
She was taken to to Kingaroy Hospital for assessment. Her daughter was not injured.

A 44-year-old man has been charged with public nuisance after an incident in Youngman Street, Kingaroy, near Shoppingworld on Sunday afternoon.
Snr Sgt Frank said that at 4:00pm, police were called to a disturbance where they allegedly found the man abusive and aggressive.

Police say a search of a house and caravan at McClymont Road, Wattle Camp, last Wednesday led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia, drug-testing equipment, syringes and needles and 12 cannabis plants growing in a garage.
A 59-year-old man has been issued with a notice to appear in court on a charge of allowing his premises to be used for drug offences.
Snr Sgt Frank said investigations were continuing.
