A 19-year-old Cherbourg man has been charged following a traffic incident in the early hours of Saturday morning which has left a car abandoned on Cherbourg Road.
Police allege they attempted to pull over the vehicle about 3:00am in Wondai however the driver refused to stop and drove off.
Soon afterwards, the vehicle ran off the road, hit a tree and ended up in a culvert beside the gravel road.
The man has been charged with failing to stop for police, unlicensed driving and driving without due care and attention.
