A woman aged in her 60s was knocked unconscious this afternoon while working with a horse on a property at Taromeo.

It is unclear whether the woman was knocked over by the horse or hit by a gate.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted the woman to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

This is the second horse-related incident that RACQ CareFlight Rescue has responded to this afternoon.

Earlier today, the Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted an injured woman who was thrown from a horse at Tiaro, near Maryborough.
