Judges had a tough job on Saturday selecting the entrants who’ll be representing the South Burnett at the Brisbane Exhibition in August.
The South Burnett Sub-Chamber Presentation Lunch was held at Proston.
Judges assessed Young Judges, Young Handlers, utes, fruit cake as well as the prestigious Rural Ambassador and Miss Showgirl categories in the morning.
The winners were announced after lunch.
The 2014 South Burnett Rural Ambassador is Proston Show winner Kiera Weisse.
Nanango Miss Showgirl Louise Black was named the 2014 South Burnett Miss Showgirl.
In a boilover in the rich fruitcake category, odds-on favourite Edna O’Neill, representing the Murgon Show Society, came in second behind Proston’s Faye Kruger.
Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies South Burnett delegate Richard O’Neill congratulated all the finalists and reminded them that even if they hadn’t taken out the top spot on Saturday, they had all been successful in just getting to this stage of the judging.
“You’re a winner whether or not you’ve won today,” he said.
Proston Show Society president Helen Young compered the presentation lunch.
