St Mary’s Catholic School at Laidley has sent another truckload of hay bales to Cloyna to help local farmers through its “Rural Connect” project.
Thirty-three large bales of hay were loaded onto a truck in the Lockyer Valley on Friday.
A local Laidley family donated the use of the truck, fuel and time to make the delivery.
This brings a total of 77 tonnes of hay, 2160kg of lick blocks, 800kg of dog food, 100 bales of prime lucerne plus toiletries that have been distributed in the South Burnett area.
St Mary’s Laidley principal Nathan Haley said he had been told one young farmer had been in tears in gratitude for the hay as he was in a desperate state for feed.
