Tomorrow’s “Tour de Kumbia” cycling race in Kumbia promises to be heaps of fun, even if you’re not a huge fan of cycling.
While the semi-professionals are competing on the road course in Round 3 of the Queensland Road Team Series cycle race, there’ll be heaps of activities to enjoy in Kumbia.
The Kumbia community has rallied behind the cycling event with a day of family activities planned from about 10:30am.
There’ll be market stalls, a free jumping castle and slide plus face painting for the kids, and a decorated bicycle competition.
Before the starter’s pistol goes off at noon, there’ll be a grand parade of classic cars.
There’ll also be a display of historic bikes and live entertainment in the afternoon at the Kumbia Hotel.
The Tour de Kumbia, and Sunday’s Tour de Kingaroy, will be contested by 18 teams of six riders so the massed start is not to be missed!
The South Burnett races are part of a five-round series held throughout south-east Queensland. The final round will be held in Brisbane in August.
